Down Memory Lane: A Favorite Past Project in Pacific Palisades
I so appreciate my time as the senior designer at Consort. Founders Brandon and Mat have such a great sense of style and are experts at mixing furniture forms, materials, and textures in all of their designs. The guys both have eyes that tend to skew more modern than my own so when we were asked to design the interiors of a five-bedroom traditional family home in LA’s Pacific Palisades neighborhood, it only made sense for me to come inject a little east-coast trad into the classic-style dwelling. I created a traditional-with-a-twist foundation with timeless furniture forms like a tufted midcentury-style sofa in the living room, saddle armchairs in the master, and sleek Windsor chairs in the breakfast nook. Materials like burlwood, sisal, linen, and leather provide visual interest. Adding a layers of fun colors and patterns helped to keep the space from getting too stuffy and a final layer of funky art, accessories, and lighting gave this home the Consort-feel.
